Palm Oil Prices

Palm oil prices averaged USD 1,283 per metric ton in May, down 5.8% from April. On 30 May, the commodity traded at USD 1,290 per metric ton, up 0.8% from 30 April.

Average palm oil prices declined for the second consecutive month in May, capped by weaker prices for cheaper alternatives, including soy and crude oil. That said, a near-90% surge in India’s imports month on month lent support, helping to temper the decline.
