Palm oil prices averaged USD 1,287 per metric ton in December, down 0.5% from November. On 31 December, the commodity traded at USD 1,305 per metric ton, up 2.4% from 28 November.
In December, palm oil prices eased to their lowest level since June. Demand concerns persisted, with Indian imports falling to an eight-month low. Moreover, Malaysian shipments declined month on month and inventories spiked to a near seven-year high.
