Rice prices averaged USD 410 per metric ton in February, down 0.5% from January. On 27 February, the commodity traded at USD 404 per metric ton, down 1.9% from 30 January.
In February, rice prices edged down to a three-month low on average. Oversupply of the commodity and sluggish demand weighed on prices, as buyers likely anticipated increased supply from the upcoming harvest. U.S. tariffs and the appreciating currencies of major exporters, such as Thailand, will have also capped prices.
