Alumina Prices

Alumina prices averaged USD 307 per metric ton in February, up 0.1% from January. On 27 February, the commodity traded at USD 306 per metric ton, down 0.2% from 30 January.

Average alumina prices rose marginally in February from the prior month, interrupting a five-month streak of contractions. Still, prices remained low. Tensions in the Middle East are key to monitor: The Gulf accounts for about 8% of aluminium supply, and disruptions in the region could affect demand for alumina and bauxite.
