Alumina Prices

Alumina prices averaged USD 311 per metric ton in December, down 2.3% from November. On 31 December, the commodity traded at USD 307 per metric ton, down 3.2% from 28 November.

Average alumina prices dropped for the fourth consecutive month in December, making it the worst performer among base metals last year, with prices halving since the start of 2025. Surging supply from China—where alumina stocks hit a record high end-November—and hefty bauxite inventories at ports weighed on prices.
