Cobalt prices averaged USD 55,858 per metric ton in February, up 0.7% from January. On 27 February, the commodity traded at USD 55,873 per metric ton, up 0.1% from 30 January.
Average cobalt prices rose for a sixth straight month in February. Still-constrained exports from the DRC—the supplier of more than 70% of global output—were likely behind the uptick. That said, February’s performance was the weakest of the past six months, as easing supply restrictions capped gains.
