Molybdenum prices averaged USD 60,409 per metric ton in November, up 1.4% from October. On 28 November, the commodity traded at USD 63,383 per metric ton, up 5.2% from 31 October.
Prices rose for the sixth consecutive month in November and averaged their highest level since April 2023. Expectations of Fed interest rate cuts in December likely bolstered demand. Also, multiple disruptions at copper mines in recent months likely aided prices; around 60% of global molybdenum output is a byproduct of copper.
