Steel (Europe) prices averaged USD 726 per metric ton in May, up 0.7% from April. On 30 May, the commodity traded at USD 715 per metric ton, down 4.7% from 30 April.
Prices edged up in May as manufacturing output in the Eurozone rose for the third consecutive month. Moreover, stricter import quotas in the EU likely supported prices. That said, prices closed the month on a low note after Trump threatened the EU with higher tariffs.
