Steel (USA) prices averaged USD 908 per metric ton in December, up 5.5% from November. On 31 December, the commodity traded at USD 935 per metric ton, up 3.0% from 28 November.
In December, average prices rose for the third consecutive month and reached an eight-month high. As a result, steel (USA) prices rose by almost 30% this year, largely sustained by higher import tariffs and a particularly resilient construction sector in the U.S.
