Uranium prices averaged USD 73.94 per pound in June, up 4.2% from May. On 30 June, the commodity traded at USD 78.75 per pound, up 9.8% from 30 May.
June’s rise in prices was the third in a row. U.S. uranium fund Sprott announced plans to buy USD 200 million of uranium, after raising roughly that same amount in equity from U.S. investment bank Canaccord Genuity. Supply-wise, Niger said it would expropriate a uranium mine from French firm Orano, supply disruptions.
