Uranium prices averaged USD 70.95 per pound in May, up 8.6% from April. On 30 May, the commodity traded at USD 71.70 per pound, up 6.0% from 30 April.
Prices rose in April–May after hitting a 19-month low in March. The tide turned for uranium as the U.S. President issued executive orders to slash licensing times for new nuclear reactors. Moreover, in its tax and spending bill, the Trump administration kept tax credits for nuclear energy but cut subsidies for renewables.
