Uranium prices averaged USD 88.69 per pound in February, up 2.5% from January. On 27 February, the commodity traded at USD 86.30 per pound, down 12.8% from 30 January.
After briefly topping USD 100 per pound in late January, uranium prices fell sharply in February even as Sprott—owner of the world’s top uranium fund—continued to increase its holdings; upbeat output guidance by Kazakh mining company Kazatomprom likely cooled investor exuberance.
