Angola: Inflation eases to a 10-month low in February
Latest reading: Inflation fell to 25.3% in February from January’s 26.5%. February’s figure marked a one-year low. Tight financing conditions, improved consumer-goods supply plus renewed Central Bank intervention in FX markets supporting the kwanza have all contributed to a continued decline in inflation. That said, the paring back of fuel subsidies likely stemmed the overall decline in inflation and will likely keep it elevated ahead.
Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation stable at January’s 28.6% in February.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 1.59% over the previous month in February, which was below the 1.67% increase logged in January.
