Belarus: Industrial output growth slows to a near two-year low in January
Latest reading: Industrial production grew 2.9% year on year in January (December: +5.4% yoy). January’s outturn marked the worst reading since April 2023. Looking at the details of the release, energy and water supply swung into contraction, and mining and quarrying lost momentum, outweighing a faster rise in manufacturing output.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 6.5% in January, down from December’s 6.7% reading.
