Belarus: Inflation drops in December
Latest reading: Inflation softened to 5.2% in December from November’s 5.5%, marking the lowest result since October 2023. Looking at the details of the release, the slowdown came at the heels of softer growth in food, housing and textile costs. That said, transport prices gained traction in December.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation ticking down to 5.7% in December (November: 5.8%).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.60% in December over the previous month, accelerating from November’s 0.30% increase and marking the joint-highest reading in 10 months.
