Belgium: Economic sentiment hits highest reading since June in November
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 93.9 in November, up from October’s 92.6. November’s result marked the strongest sentiment since June. That said, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected healthier sentiment in the industrial, retail and construction sectors. Meanwhile, confidence in the services sector improved in November. Less positively, consumer confidence cooled in November.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index improved in November.
