Belgium: Industrial output growth loses pace in August
Latest reading: Industrial production grew 0.4% month-on-month in seasonally adjusted terms in August (July: +6.4% mom). August’s figure was partly driven by a deterioration in manufacturing production growth. In contrast, energy production rebounded.
On an annual basis, industrial production increased 4.7% in August, which was notably better than July’s 0.2% expansion and marking the best result since November 2022. Moreover, the trend improved notably, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 6.0%, up from July’s minus 6.8%.
