Belgium: Industrial activity declines in October
Latest reading: Industrial output nosedived 6.2% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in October, which was down from the previous month’s flat reading. The plunge was partly due to a deterioration in manufacturing output. In addition, energy output fell markedly.
On an annual basis, industrial output plunged 7.9% in October (September: +5.0% yoy), the worst result since February. Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 4.0%, up from September’s minus 4.2%.
