Belgium: Industrial output growth reaches over two-year high in November
Latest reading: Industrial output increased 8.7% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in November, which contrasted October’s 4.9% decrease. The rebound marked the best reading since September 2022 and reflected a broad-based upturn: Activity in the manufacturing, energy, and mining and quarrying sub-sectors all improved in November.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose 8.7% in November, rebounding from October’s 6.0% fall and marking the best result since February 2022. Moreover, the trend improved sizably, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.8% in November, up from October’s minus 3.8%.
