Belgium: Industrial output rebounds in January
Latest reading: Industrial output grew 0.6% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in January after shrinking 2.3% in December. Looking at the details of the release, activity in both manufacturing and mining and quarrying recovered from the prior month’s contraction in January.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose 0.8% in January after falling 3.3% in December. Moreover, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.5% in January, up from December’s minus 1.9%.
