Belgium: Harmonized inflation increases in November
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation ticked up to 4.8% in November, above October’s 4.5%. The rise was primarily due to higher price increases for housing and utilities plus hospitality, coupled with a softer decline in transport prices. That said, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages plus recreation rose at a softer pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 4.0% in November (October: 3.5%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was steady, coming in at October’s 3.2% in November.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.17% over the previous month in November, a smaller increase than October’s 0.51% rise.
