Brazil: Consumer sentiment hits over decade high in November; industrial sentiment deteriorates
Latest reading: The seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index published by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (Fundação Getúlio Vargas) rose to 95.6 in November from October’s 93.0. November’s print marked the strongest sentiment since April 2014. As a result, the index moved closer to, but remained below, the 100-point threshold, indicating softer pessimism among Brazilian consumers.
Conversely, the seasonally adjusted industrial business confidence index receded to a five-month low of 98.6 in November from October’s 99.9. As such, the index moved further below the 100-point threshold, signaling greater pessimism among industrial firms.
