Bulgaria: Economic sentiment eases in January
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 104.6 in January from December’s 105.7. January’s result marked the weakest sentiment since May 2024. That said, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
Looking at the details of the release, sentiment in the industrial and retail sectors strengthened, while sentiment in the construction sector plus confidence in the services sector and among consumer deteriorated.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index fell in January.
