Costa Rica: Economic activity growth rises in February
Latest reading: Economic activity grew 4.0% year on year in February (January: +3.9% yoy). February’s pickup was driven by sturdier momentum in the manufacturing sector. Moreover, the agriculture, forestry and fishing sector contracted at a softer rate. Less positively, the construction and communications sectors lost steam.
Meanwhile, annual average growth of economic activity was 4.5% in February, mirroring January’s reading. On a monthly basis, economic activity rose 1.9% in seasonally adjusted terms in February, rebounding from January’s 0.9% fall and marking the best result since July 2022.
