Costa Rica: Inflation holds steady in March
Latest reading: Inflation held steady at February’s 1.2% in March. On the one hand, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a softer pace. On the other hand, prices for housing and utilities rose at a sharper rate and transport prices fell at a slower pace.
The annual average variation of consumer prices edged up to 0.2% in March from February’s flat reading.
Finally, consumer prices dropped 0.32% from the previous month in March, which was below the 0.01% fall recorded in February. March’s result marked the lowest reading since October 2024.
