Costa Rica: Consumer prices post greatest fall since March in October
Latest reading: Consumer prices decreased 0.8% on an annual basis in October (September’s -0.1%). October’s result represented the largest fall in consumer prices since March, and was primarily driven by decreasing prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages. In addition, price pressures for transportation fell at a faster rate.
Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with the annual average variation of consumer prices coming in at September’s minus 0.8% in October.
Finally, consumer prices fell 0.44% in October over the previous month, a sharper drop than September’s 0.33% fall. October’s result marked the lowest reading since February 2023.
