Croatia: Harmonized inflation increases to over one-year high in January
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation increased to 5.0% in January, above December’s 4.5%. January’s reading marked the highest inflation rate since December 2023. The acceleration was broad-based, with greater price pressures recorded for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing and utilities.
Annual average harmonized inflation remained at December’s 4.0% in January. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 4.0% in January from the previous month’s 3.5%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.23% in January over the previous month, broadly unchanged from December’s 0.19% increase. January’s result marked the highest reading since October 2024.
