Cyprus: Economic sentiment picks up in April
Latest reading: Economic sentiment came in at 106.3 in April, up from March’s 106.2. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected improved sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors. On the flip side, confidence in the services and retail sectors waned in April. Moreover, consumer confidence deteriorated.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index rose in April.
