Cyprus: Industrial output growth gains steam in September
Latest reading: Industrial output expanded 2.8% year on year in calendar-adjusted terms in September (August: +2.7% c.a. yoy). September’s upturn came on the back of pickups in manufacturing and mining and quarrying production. On the flip side, energy output swung into contraction.
Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth fell to 3.4% in September (August: +3.6%), signaling a worsening trend in the industrial sector. On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 1.0% in seasonally adjusted terms in September, which was above August’s 0.1% expansion.
