Cyprus: Harmonized inflation moderates in February
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation came in at 2.3% in February, down from January’s 2.9%. Looking at the details of the release, food inflation roughly halved. On the flip side, price pressures for transportation and for housing and utilities picked up pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation remained at January’s 2.3% in February. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 1.9% in February from January’s 2.5%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 0.27% in February over the previous month, contrasting the 1.44% drop logged in January. February’s uptick was the sharpest increase in prices since August 2024.
