Czech Republic: Economic sentiment deteriorates in October
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 93.7 in October from September’s 97.6. Consequently, the index moved further below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected weaker sentiment in the industrial sector. Additionally, confidence in the services and retail sectors cooled in October. More positively, sentiment in the construction sector and among consumers improved.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index improved in October.
