Czech Republic: Industrial output bounces back in December
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 1.5% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in December (November: -1.8% mom s.a.). The notable turnaround was primarily due to an improvement in manufacturing plus mining and quarrying production. That said, energy supply recorded a contraction.
On a calendar adjusted annual basis, factory output decreased 3.0% in December, which was greater than November’s 2.7% fall and marked the worst result since June. Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 1.4% in December, down from November’s minus 1.1%.
