Denmark: Manufacturing production escapes the doldrums in October
Latest reading: Manufacturing production returned to growth in October, rising 5.5% month on month in seasonally adjusted terms and contrasting September’s 4.6% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, October’s recovery reflected rebounds in non-durable consumer goods—which account for around two-fifths of manufacturing output—investment goods and intermediate goods output.
On a seasonally adjusted annual basis, manufacturing output rose at a faster rate of 8.1% in October (September: +7.0% yoy). Meanwhile, annual average manufacturing production growth slowed to 10.0% in October (September: +10.5%), signaling a deteriorating trend in the manufacturing sector.
