Denmark: Manufacturing production returns to the doldrums in November
Latest reading: Manufacturing production swung into contraction in November, falling 3.6% month on month in seasonally adjusted terms and contrasting October’s 5.3% rise. Looking at the details of the release, November’s recovery reflected fresh declines in non-durable consumer goods—which account for around two-fifths of manufacturing output—investment goods and intermediate goods output.
On a seasonally adjusted annual basis, manufacturing output dropped 2.9% in November (October: +8.2% yoy). Accordingly, annual average manufacturing production growth slowed to 8.4% in November (October: +10.2%), signaling a deteriorating trend in the manufacturing sector.
