Dominican Republic: Economic activity growth rises in October
Latest reading: Economic activity expanded 5.4% compared to the same month of the previous year in October, which followed September’s 4.7% increase. Looking at preliminary data, stronger momentum in manufacturing and construction activity, coupled with a stable rise in the services sector, outweighed softer growth in agricultural output.
On a monthly basis, economic activity increased 0.8% in seasonally adjusted terms in October, which was better than September’s flat reading and marking the best result since April. Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average growth of economic activity coming in at 5.0%, up from September’s 4.9%.
