Dominican Republic: Inflation rises to over one-year high in February
Latest reading: Inflation came in at 3.6% in February, up from January’s 3.3%. February’s figure was the highest inflation rate since December 2023. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and transport increased at a quicker pace in February.
That said, annual average inflation remained at January’s 3.3% in February. Meanwhile, core inflation ticked up to 4.2% in February from the previous month’s 4.0%.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.32% in February over the previous month, a smaller increase than January’s 0.37% rise.
