Estonia: Harmonized inflation jumps in February
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation increased to 5.1% in February, above January’s 3.8%. February’s result represented the highest inflation rate since July 2023 and was due to stronger price growth for food plus a rebound in price pressures for housing and utilities.
The trend pointed up slightly, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 3.7% in February (January: 3.6%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 5.3% in February from January’s 3.9%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 1.31% in February over the previous month, accelerating from the 1.02% increase recorded in January. February’s result was the highest reading since April 2023.
