Estonia: Harmonized inflation recedes in January
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation edged down to 3.8% in January, following December’s 4.1%. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food, hospitality and recreation rose at a softer rate, and costs for housing and utilities fell at a faster pace. In contrast, prices for transportation rose at a stronger pace.
Annual average harmonized inflation fell to 3.6% in January (December: 3.7%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was steady, coming in at December’s 3.9% in January.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 1.02% from the previous month in January, picking up from December’s 0.26% rise. January’s figure was the highest reading since January 2024.
