Greece: Economic sentiment deteriorates in December
Latest reading: Economic sentiment fell to 106.0 in December from November’s 106.2. That said, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial and retail sectors. More positively, sentiment in the construction and services sectors improved in December. Additionally, consumer confidence rose.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations were healthier, while the economic uncertainty index fell in December.
