Greece: Industrial activity contracts at softer pace in September
Latest reading: Industrial output slid 2.1% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in September (August: -3.9% mom s.a.). September’s softer drop was largely driven by a rebound in manufacturing output. In contrast, electricity supply production weakened.
On an annual basis, factory output rose at a softer pace of 2.5% in September (August: +3.3% yoy), the worst result since March. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 6.2% in September (August: +6.1%). This signals an improving trend in the industrial sector.
