Greece: Industrial output records quickest growth since April in December
Latest reading: Industrial output expanded 2.4% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in December, which was above November’s 1.7% increase. The print marked the best reading since April. December’s pickup was largely due to a notable rebound in manufacturing production. In contrast, electricity supply output fell heavily.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose 5.8% in December, significantly above November’s 3.3% expansion and marking the best result since July. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 5.3% in December (November: +5.1%). This signals an improving trend in the industrial sector.
