Greece: Industrial production shrinks in January
Latest reading: Industrial output dropped 0.8% in month-on-month seasonally adjusted terms in January, which was a deterioration from December’s 2.4% increase. The result was largely due to a contraction in manufacturing output. In addition, water supply production contracted at a sharper rate.
On an annual basis, industrial output rose at a more moderate pace of 2.0% in January (December: +5.8% yoy). Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 4.6%, down from December’s 5.2%.
