Guatemala: Inflation eases further below target in February
Latest reading: Inflation slowed to 1.8% in February from January’s 2.2%, moving further below the Central Bank’s 3.0–5.0% target band. February’s result was the lowest since December 2024. Looking at the details of the release, food, housing and textile costs rose at a softer clip than in January.
As a result, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation falling to 2.6% in February (January: 2.7%).
Lastly, consumer prices dropped 0.25% in February over the previous month, swinging from the 0.51% increase recorded in January.
