Guatemala: Inflation eases further below target in March
Latest reading: Inflation slowed to 1.6% in March from February’s 1.8%, moving further below the Central Bank’s 3.0–5.0% target band. March’s result was the lowest since October 2024. Looking at the details of the release, food costs rose at a softer clip than in February, outweighing a faster increase in housing and textile prices.
As a result, the trend pointed down, with annual average inflation falling to 2.5% in March (February: 2.6%).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.09% in March over the previous month, swinging from the 0.25% drop recorded in February.
