Guatemala: Inflation picks up in November
Latest reading: Inflation rose to 1.7% in November from October’s 1.2% but remained firmly below the Central Bank’s 3.0–5.0% target band. Looking at the details of the release, the increase chiefly reflected a faster increase in costs for food and non-alcoholic beverages. That said, clothing and footwear prices rose at a softer pace in November compared to the previous month.
That said, annual average inflation fell to 3.1% in November (October: 3.3%).
Lastly, consumer prices fell 0.17% in November over the previous month, swinging from the 0.33% rise recorded in October.
