Hungary: Decline in industrial activity softens in January
Latest reading: Industrial output fell 3.6% compared to the same month of the previous year in January, which was markedly less than December’s 7.9% decrease. A softer fall in manufacturing output plus improving mining and quarrying output spearheaded the uptick.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.9% in January (December: -2.9% mom s.a.). Meanwhile, annual average variation of industrial production was steady at December’s 4.1% in January.
