Indonesia: Inflation falls to three-year low in October
Latest reading: Inflation eased to 1.7% in October from September’s 1.8%, marking the lowest inflation rate since October 2021. Looking at the details of the release, price rises for food, textiles and recreation eased in October, and transport costs declined. Meanwhile, prices for housing, water, electricity and household fuels grew at a slightly quicker pace.
As a result, annual average inflation edged down to 2.5% in October (September: 2.6%). Meanwhile, core inflation rose to 2.2% in October from September’s 2.1%.
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.08% from the previous month in October, contrasting September’s 0.12% drop. October’s uptick marked the highest reading since April.
