Indonesia: Retail sales decline in February
Latest reading: Retail sales slid 0.5% year on year in February (January: +0.5% yoy). The figure marked the worst reading since April 2024. The weakening was largely driven by a deterioration in food, beverages, and tobacco sales. In contrast, sales of cultural and recreation goods plus motor vehicles, parts and accessories picked up pace.
Meanwhile, annual average retail sales growth fell to 2.5% in February (January: +3.0%). This signals a worsening trend in the retail trade sector.
