Kuwait: Inflation remains stable in January
Latest reading: Inflation held steady at December’s 2.5% in January. The reading was well below the average for the Middle East and North Africa, but above the average for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members. Looking at the details of the release, the change in prices for food increased at a faster pace in January, while prices for clothing grew at a slower rate.
Annual average inflation ticked down to 2.8% in January (December: 2.9%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.15% from the previous month in January, below December’s 0.45% rise. January’s result marked the weakest reading since October 2024.
