Latvia: Harmonized inflation recedes in March
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation inched down to 3.5% in March, edging down from February’s 3.7%. The downtick was largely driven by softer price growth for housing and utilities plus a sharper drop in transport costs compared to the prior month.
Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 2.0% in March (February: 1.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 3.4% in March from the previous month’s 3.7%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.90% from the previous month in March, accelerating from the 0.74% increase recorded in February. March’s result marked the highest reading since March 2024.
