Malaysia: Inflation rises in October
Latest reading: Inflation inched up to 1.9% in October, above September’s 1.8%. The upturn was largely driven by rising price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages. Meanwhile, housing and utilities prices grew at a steady pace, and transport costs decelerated.
Annual average inflation remained at September’s 1.8% in October.
Lastly, consumer prices increased 0.15% in October over the previous month, following the flat result recorded in September. October’s figure was the highest reading since June.
