Malaysia: Inflation falls in September
Latest reading: Inflation inched down to 1.8% in September, moderately below August’s 1.9%. September’s result represented the joint-weakest inflation rate since March and was primarily driven by softer growth in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at August’s 1.8% in September.
Lastly, consumer prices recorded zero growth from the previous month in September, below the 0.08% rise recorded in August. September’s result marked the weakest reading since November 2023.
