Netherlands: Harmonized inflation rises to over one-year high in November
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation increased to 3.8% in November, up from October’s 3.3%. November’s reading marked the highest inflation rate since July 2023. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose at a quicker pace in November, and prices for transportation rebounded. Meanwhile, housing and utilities prices grew less than in October.
Annual average harmonized inflation rose to 3.0% in November (October: 2.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 4.0% in November from the previous month’s 3.5%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices dropped 1.03% in November over the previous month, contrasting October’s 0.63% rise. November’s result marked the weakest reading since November 2023.
