Netherlands: Harmonized inflation falls in January
Latest reading: Harmonized inflation eased to 3.0% in January, from December’s 3.9%. January’s reading marked the weakest inflation rate since May 2024. The decline was driven by moderating price pressures for transportation, housing and utilities, recreation, and hospitality.
The trend was unchanged, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at December’s 3.2% in January. Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 3.3% in January from the previous month’s 4.1%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices fell 0.74% in January over the previous month, swinging from December’s 0.35% increase.
